Children can be classified as "Gifted and Talented" if they are between the ages of 4-21 and possess exceptional abilities, talents, and potential for accomplishment, or are developmentally-advanced in a way that they require special provisions to meet their educational programming needs.

How students are identified: Students, parents, teachers, and staff work together to develop Advanced Learning Plans (ALP) for all of our students identified as gifted in order to ensure they are challenged and experience academic and social/emotional growth throughout the year.

Colorado gifted education requirements
Colorado requires administrative units to identify and serve gifted learners and to maintain comprehensive and annual program plans under the Exceptional Children's Educational Act.
For families: Identification uses a body of evidence rather than one score. Every identified learner receives an Advanced Learning Plan, while available programming and optional early access vary locally.
