National research directory

Every district has a research record. Find yours.

Search all 13,344 public school districts through the counties they serve. Each result states whether we reviewed a local source, a state framework, a federal district report, or an explicit non-report classification.

Why district-level research?

Counties are the way families search, but school districts usually operate gifted and advanced programs—and district boundaries can cross county lines. We preserve both.

How to read the directory

Complete classification, with the evidence level kept visible.

The geographic index uses 2025 Census counties and NCES 2024–25 school-district relationships. Every district is accounted for, but the evidence is not all equivalent: 1,000 records use local official sources; the remainder use authoritative state frameworks, mandatory federal reporting, or an explicit source-match status. We never rename those records as locally verified programs.
