E.A.G.L.E. / Gifted & Talented Programs
Lexington County School District One combines its elementary E.A.G.L.E. program with honors middle-school instruction and advanced high-school academic and artistic opportunities.
How services work: Beginning in grade 3, identified elementary students spend dedicated weekly time with an E.A.G.L.E. teacher in accelerated, enriched curriculum emphasizing depth, pace, complexity, and significant issues. Grades 6–8 use honors language arts and/or mathematics, followed by advanced secondary pathways.
How students are identified: Qualified students are identified under South Carolina's statewide process: universal second-grade CogAT and Iowa screening, additional referrals, and eligibility through two of three state dimensions or the high-composite aptitude pathway.
