Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Martin County combines early talent development, universal and ongoing screening, and differentiated programming intended to recognize gifted potential across all student populations.
How services work: DEPs connect classroom differentiation and talent-development blocks with enrichment, clustering, critical-thinking activities, mentorships, job shadowing, academic competitions, internships, advanced courses, and extended learning.
How students are identified: Screening begins in kindergarten, with third-grade aptitude testing and ongoing K–12 review. Teams use aptitude, achievement, observations, work samples, local assessments, referrals, and learner profiles to determine gifted or talent-development services.
