Published coverageK-12
Published processAll kindergarten students are evaluated in winter. Teachers, parents and students may refer students in other grades throughout the year. The committee reviews a district-approved aptitude test from the past two years, achievement and other test data, teacher observations, classroom performance and a parent inventory on a Student Profile Matrix. Multiple scores at or above the 90th percentile support automatic qualification; one such score or several near that level require strong qualitative evidence, and campus local norms are also considered.
Published modelElementary students receive trained-teacher service at their home campus through individual and peer-group work, Texas Performance Standards Projects and Depth and Complexity. Global Leadership Academy students receive classroom differentiation and Genius Hour. Grades 6-12 use Advanced Academics, AP and dual-credit courses.
