Published processDistrict staff and families may nominate a student; secondary students may nominate themselves through the counselor. The Student Summary Profile includes NNAT, verbal, nonverbal and quantitative CogAT batteries and the Renzulli Student Profile. Published minimums are 124 on NNAT, 120 on a CogAT battery, or 28 in a Renzulli profile area or 110 composite. A selection committee reviews the complete profile, and eligibility normally requires meeting the district line in at least three categories.
Published modelKindergarten students begin pull-out service after April 1. Students in Grades 1-5 receive a 45-minute weekly pull-out focused on critical thinking, creativity, metacognition, affective development and research. Grades 6-8 use a GT English language arts classroom, and high-school students use college-preparatory, AP and dual-credit courses.
