How students are considered
Published processParents, teachers and community members may refer students in December. All kindergarten and second-grade students receive NNAT-3 universal screening; students moving forward may take CogAT and/or SAGES-3. A blind trained committee reviews the assessment record and determines the need for services. Parents may appeal within ten school days of notification.
What service can look like
Published modelStudents receive instruction from G/T-trained teachers or through a pull-out arrangement, with the district program emphasizing self-directed learning, thinking, research, communication and advanced creative products. Kindergarten service begins by March 1; newly identified Grades 1-12 students begin service in August.

04Ask whether the student receives NNAT-3 universal screening and whether CogAT or SAGES-3 will be used for further assessment.
05Request the written blind-committee decision in February for kindergarten or May for Grades 1-12 and obtain the score profile.
06If appealing, submit focused new evidence within ten school days; if identified, confirm the trained-teacher or pull-out schedule and August or March start.
