How students are considered

Published processThe district uses at least three quantitative and qualitative measures. Published criteria list ability and achievement at or above the 97th percentile, a critical or creative thinking portfolio score of 4, and a parent or teacher inventory score of 4. Phase I is an online ability assessment; Phase II adds achievement, a creative and critical thinking task, and teacher and guardian inventories.

03

What service can look like

Published modelAIM groups identified K-6 students for specialist-led, in-depth interdisciplinary pull-out learning. Grades 7-8 can use GEMS leadership, humanities, social studies, reading/language arts and science options. Grades 9-12 use Phoenix advanced or AP/IB English within an integrated literature, history and fine-arts course sequence.

Your starting checklist

Confirm current instructions with the district before submitting. Bloomfield does not predict placement or reproduce protected assessments.

01Between September 22 and October 21, open the parent Skyward account and submit Optional GT Testing Registration; save the confirmation email.
02Before testing, review the four published evidence areas: ability, achievement, critical or creative thinking, and parent or teacher observations.
03Use the parent inventory to give specific, observable examples of reasoning, originality, depth, persistence, and learning speed rather than broad praise.
04Watch Skyward after Phase I; if the score is 94th-96th percentile, evaluate and submit Alternative Review within ten days.
05For Phase II, retain the achievement, thinking-task, inventory, and portfolio results and compare them with the published criteria.
06Check the parent Skyward Portfolio in April for the final decision; if appealing, use the directions attached to the Phase II notice.
