Published processK-2 identification includes G&T teacher observation, classroom-teacher identification, and achievement-data review. All students in Grades 2 and 6 take CogAT. For those grades, the district guide assigns 60% to verbal, quantitative, and nonverbal cognitive reasoning, 20% to the spring i-Ready mathematics diagnostic, and 20% to the spring i-Ready reading diagnostic. The data team reviews gifted behaviors, and families may provide an optional rubric that carries no numerical weight. Grades 5-8 continuation also considers prior participation and a middle-school team review.
Published modelK-2 includes classroom differentiation, higher-order challenges, small-group exploration, and whole-class G&T specialist push-in. Identified Grades 3-4 students receive Accelerate pull-out projects and content-area enrichment mini-units; identified Grades 5-8 students receive an Accelerate period, while advanced mathematics and STEM electives have their own access routes. Grades 9-12 offer advanced courses, independent study, Honors, AP, and dual enrollment.
