Your starting checklist

Turn the published process into clear next steps.

Confirm current instructions with the district before submitting. Bloomfield does not predict placement or reproduce protected assessments.

01Ask the school for its annual identification and IDP calendar before grade-level assessments begin.
02Request every applicable reading, mathematics, exemplar, observation, NJSLA, course-proficiency, and prerequisite result.
03Review the K-5 IDP with the teacher and make sure strategies, level-based time, and progress communication are specific.
04For Grades 6-12, map prerequisites and advanced course choices before scheduling closes.
05If appealing, use the district form and choose no more than two strong original samples showing reasoning, depth, or creativity.
06Keep the committee decision separate from a statutory noncompliance complaint to the Board.
