What service can look like

Published modelThe gifted specialist consults with classroom teachers and child-study-team members across K-12. Your starting checklist

Turn the published process into clear next steps.

Confirm current instructions with the district before submitting. Bloomfield does not predict placement or reproduce protected assessments.

01Ask the principal when the annual cumulative-file review and any Grade 4-6 placement decisions occur.
02Request the current identification matrix rather than relying on an older dated rubric linked from the site.
03Gather classroom achievement, standardized-test, teacher-observation, work-product, and cognitive evidence for the committee review.
04Ask how teacher consultation will change instruction now, even if the child is not placed in the Grades 4-6 project group.
05If placed, confirm project meeting frequency, units, entry or exit choices, and how progress is communicated.
06For program noncompliance, submit a fact-specific written complaint to the Board office and retain its written decision.
