How students are considered
Published processTeachers make course recommendations, while counselors and administrators review course grades, standardized test scores, and successful completion of prerequisite courses. Grades and test evidence are reviewed on an ongoing basis; teacher recommendations are made in January.
What service can look like
Published modelStudents in Grades 9-12 can use Honors and AP classes plus academic clubs. Concurrent-enrollment courses are available in Grades 11-12. Course offerings and prerequisites determine the student's actual path rather than one separate gifted pull-out program.

02Ask each teacher what readiness evidence will support the recommendation and address gaps before recommendations close.
03Review the recommendation in the student portal and contact the counselor immediately if expected advanced courses are missing.
04For Grades 11-12, compare AP and concurrent-enrollment options for rigor, credit, scheduling, and cost.
05Document any request for reconsideration and ask for the written criteria and evidence used.
06Direct a written program-compliance complaint to the district curriculum office using the contact on the official page.
