How students are considered
Published processThe district may consider parent recommendation, teacher recommendation and rubric, report-card achievement, an ELA teacher rating, a writing sample, enVision, DIBELS, NJSLA, and PSAT/SAT. Prior-year objective data supports preliminary identification; the fall process adds recommendations and reviews the full criteria.

01At the start of fall, ask the G&T teacher for the recommendation, committee-review, notification, and November-to-January service-start calendar.
02Submit a parent recommendation that identifies the subject need and includes concise evidence beyond ordinary grade-level work.
03Request every report-card, teacher-rating, writing, enVision, DIBELS, NJSLA, PSAT/SAT, and recommendation result used for the child's grade.
04Ask how the district converts the evidence into eligibility and request the written decision.
05If eligible, obtain the specific service, staff owner, schedule, goals, and progress measure; the public menu does not mean every student receives every option.
06For a concern, contact the G&T teacher or assistant superintendent and use the Board complaint route for alleged noncompliance.
