Published processInitial Tier III screening considers classroom performance, mastery of designated assessments, exemplary work samples, and benchmarks. SAGES-2 is administered universally to Grade 6 in fall and Grade 2 in early-to-mid March; CogAT is given in Grades 3, 5, and 7 during March. The district describes Tier III as serving roughly 3-6% of students whose evidence shows well-above-average ability, typically two years above level, together with task commitment and creativity.
Published modelTier I embeds whole-group extensions and open-ended tasks. Tier II offers individualized opportunities such as clubs, Grade 5 enrichment, middle-school electives, competitions, and separately screened accelerated mathematics. Tier III provides individualized or small-group real-world inquiry, resources, curriculum compacting, possible subject or grade advancement, and a July project-based camp for identified students.
