What the official record confirms
Applicable school year: 2026-27. Bloomfield separates official requirements from our preparation guidance.
Published coverageGrades 3 through 5 elementary gifted eligibility; separate secondary grouping
Published processWith parent permission, students take the Cebeci Test of Creativity in Edison during fall. The district calculates creativity from originality plus the strongest of fluency, flexibility, or elaboration, then considers Exact Path Diagnostic performance at the 99th percentile or above; where Exact Path is not used, i-Ready performance two grade levels above the student's current grade is considered. Performance tasks and interviews may supplement the decision. Outside assessments are not accepted.
Published modelThe published elementary route governs Grades 3-5 gifted eligibility. Middle- and high-school advanced classes use separate current grouping procedures, so an elementary gifted result should not be treated as automatic secondary placement.
