Published processThe district considers standardized scores, classroom performance, teacher recommendations, parent input, cognitive ability, creativity, academic achievement, and leadership potential. Visual arts in Grades 4-8 may use portfolios and observational drawing, while music may use aptitude and performance evidence. Placement is reviewed annually and families may participate in nomination and appeal.

What service can look like

Published modelTier 1 provides enriched classroom instruction and personalized learning paths. Tier 2 adds targeted small-group enrichment, independent study, and cross-grade learning. Tier 3 provides pull-out instruction with a gifted teacher, Renzulli Learning modules, project-based work, and field experiences. Visual-art and music strengths may be evaluated separately.
