How students are considered
Published processA district committee consisting of the assistant superintendent, principals, gifted teachers, and representative classroom teachers reviews the local process near the end of Grades 2 and 5. The district explicitly permits alternative evidence of superior cognitive ability for twice-exceptional students whose disabilities make standardized achievement testing unsuitable; in those cases, achievement requirements may be waived.
What service can look like

Grades 3-8 ExPO provides intensive, sustained challenge beyond grade-level standards. Middle-school advanced options include Honors Algebra I, Honors Geometry, Honors Biology, French I-II, and Spanish I-II. Identified students are reviewed each year for continuing appropriateness.

04Separate ExPO identification from placement in Honors mathematics, biology, French, or Spanish and request each pathway's criteria.
05After placement, ask what intensive or sustained support will occur and how annual monitoring will be documented.
