How students are considered
Published processBuilding-based committees consider CogAT, district assessment tools, grades, NJSLA scores, and teacher recommendations informed by the Renzulli framework. Reading-level and standards-mastery screeners also inform NJTSS support. Transfer identification is reviewed locally, families receive written eligibility notice, and prior eligibility does not guarantee the next year because services are monitored and reconsidered annually. The manual specifically addresses multilingual and twice-exceptional learners and arts or psychomotor talent.
What service can look like

05If appealing, submit a focused written record to the principal within the manual's ten-day window and retain proof of delivery.
06Keep a placement appeal separate from a statutory program-compliance complaint; the manual explains that the complaint route cannot change an individual placement decision.
