How students are considered
Published processThe district first forms an inclusive talent pool of about 20-25 percent of students in each Grades 2-8 cohort from existing standardized evidence and teacher judgment. It then reviews local-norm achievement, classroom performance, standards mastery, teacher observations, readiness, motivation, and family input. Administrators, teachers, or families may initiate a placement review at any time, and placement remains fluid rather than permanent.
What service can look like
Published modelK-2 students use classroom differentiation such as readiness grouping, higher-level tasks, and varied texts. Accelerated mathematics runs from Grade 3 through Grade 8; accelerated language arts runs from Grade 5 through Grade 8. More individualized options may include grade skipping, mentorship, online learning, or independent research after committee review.
