What the evidence confirms
Gifted Services / SCOPE
The division provides early enrichment, its named SCOPE program for identified students in grades 3–8, and advanced secondary opportunities.
How services work: K–2 enrichment groups precede SCOPE units in grades 3–5 and middle-school gifted groups in grades 6–8; school-based staff coordinate later enrichment and Governor’s School pathways.
How students are identified: All second-graders are screened for SCOPE. Families, teachers, school staff, and students may also refer during published testing windows; a committee reviews collected assessment evidence.

For families: The statewide requirement is consistent, but areas of identification, evidence, grade services, and delivery are local.
