What the evidence confirms
Talented & Gifted Education
Louisa provides school-based gifted specialists and learning experiences intended to affirm and develop advanced potential across the division.
How services work: Gifted instructional specialists support every elementary school, each middle-school grade, and the high school, providing a continuous local structure for enrichment and advanced learning.
How students are identified: All first-graders take the NNAT. Screening committees review assessment results, advanced SOL performance, work and writing samples, rating inventories, benchmarks, and subject-specific talent indicators; three strong indicators can trigger full evaluation.
