What the evidence confirms
Gifted Education / SEARCH
Isle of Wight provides weekly talent development in the primary grades, SEARCH services through middle school, and advanced secondary coursework and Governor's School pathways.
How services work: All students in grades 1–2 receive weekly critical-thinking lessons; identified K–5 learners use pull-out services, grades 6–8 use a gifted elective, and grades 9–12 can access honors, AP, virtual, dual-credit, and Governor's School options.
How students are identified: Families, educators, administrators, and students may refer at any time. A division team reviews tests, products or portfolios, rating scales, and prior achievement and communicates a decision within 90 school days of consent.
