Academically/Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Cumberland County provides a named, districtwide continuum that develops advanced potential from kindergarten through graduation.
How services work: Discovery serves K–2, ACES serves grades 3–5, GEMS serves grades 6–8, and SAGES serves grades 9–12, with an AIG teacher or consultant available at each school.
How students are identified: Screening is ongoing each school year. Families may request screening through the school AIG teacher and must follow the district's published referral deadlines; transfer reviews are also handled at the school level.
