Maryland gifted and talented education requirements
Maryland requires universal screening no later than grade 3, additional identification in grades 3–5 and 6–9, and differentiated services during the regular school day.
For families: Every Maryland system must publish an equitable identification process, identify a significant number in every school and at least 10% systemwide, and provide services that accelerate, extend, or enrich instruction.
