What the evidence confirms
Advanced Studies and Gifted Learners
Collier County provides meaningful advanced content, higher-level thinking, personalized growth, and strength- and interest-based learning beyond the regular classroom for gifted and high-achieving students.
How services work: Gifted services are available at every school and follow each student's Educational Plan. Elementary grades 3–5 use gifted clusters in advanced ELA and math sections; middle grades use accelerated advanced courses, with secondary pathways continuing into advanced study.
How students are identified: Families initiate local consideration by submitting the district Gifted Referral Form to their school. Eligibility follows Florida Rule 6A-6.03019, and transfer families provide prior evaluation, EP, and eligibility records for review.
