Program of Gifted Services

Portsmouth provides research-based, differentiated learning designed around creativity, collaboration, communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.

How services work: Gifted teachers provide school-based differentiated instruction and resource support; older learners can access honors, AP, Governor's School, and supplemental enrichment opportunities.

How students are identified: All second-graders take the CogAT. Referrals from families, educators, community members, peers, or students are reviewed with tests, portfolio evidence, school records, and family and teacher ratings, with decisions issued within 90 instructional days.
