Gifted Education
School-based gifted programming combines trained cluster teachers, concept-based curriculum, advanced secondary coursework, and specialty-program options.
How services work: Elementary and middle students receive differentiated instruction in their home schools through cluster teachers supported by gifted specialists; high school services include advanced courses and specialty programs.
How students are identified: Multiple criteria include family and teacher checklists, portfolios, ability measures, and achievement measures; referrals may come from families, educators, students, or others.
