Gifted Program
Roanoke County uses inclusive cluster and resource services to provide differentiated academic and social-emotional learning for high-ability students.
How services work: Gifted staff collaborate with classroom teachers and administrators; elementary work emphasizes advanced thinking and problem-solving, while middle-school work adds leadership, communication, and social issues.
How students are identified: Referrals from any interested person are reviewed using multiple objective and subjective measures such as tests, grades, observations, rating scales, and academic performance; no single criterion controls eligibility.
