Gifted & Talented Program

New Kent combines classroom differentiation, pull-out learning, middle-school gifted electives, advanced high-school courses, and Governor's School opportunities.

How services work: Resource teachers collaborate on differentiated content, process, and products; middle school adds an elective and individual acceleration, while high school includes honors, AP, dual enrollment, advising, and enrichment.

How students are identified: School staff, families, community members, peers, or students may refer during the first month of each semester. A committee reviews grades, work, tests, PETS and MAP indicators, and other evidence, with no single criterion controlling eligibility.
