Gifted Education
Botetourt County combines early talent-development lessons, differentiated school-based instruction, advanced middle-school classes, and regional secondary opportunities.
How services work: Kingore lessons support talent development in K–2; gifted resource teachers collaborate with classroom teachers, and middle-school learners can use compacted advanced English or mathematics with enrichment and extension.
How students are identified: All second-graders take the NNAT in the fall. Referrals from school staff, families, peers, community members, or students are evaluated with ability and achievement tests plus family and teacher rating scales.
