Gifted and Talented Education
The School District of Oconee County provides academic and artistic gifted services that extend standards through depth, complexity, acceleration, enrichment, research, and advanced study.
How services work: Elementary learners receive pull-out or special-class services; middle and high schools use advanced, honors, and other accelerated courses. The district serves academic areas including English language arts and mathematics and supports artistically gifted learners.
How students are identified: Administrators, parents, teachers, and students may refer a learner. The district applies South Carolina's multiple-dimension identification rules, beginning with universal second-grade CogAT and Iowa screening.
