Academic and Artistic Gifted and Talented / Magnet School of the Arts
McCormick County Schools combines state gifted identification with an arts magnet pathway in art, band, and theatre for academically or artistically advanced students.
How services work: The Magnet School of the Arts expands personalized arts instruction for applicants currently in grades 7–11. Academic gifted services operate under the state framework, and district testing pages confirm CogAT and Iowa identification assessments.
How students are identified: Magnet applicants must meet at least two of four criteria: gifted identification, qualifying state results, a 3.5 GPA, or an educator recommendation with academic contract. Academic gifted identification uses the state-approved CogAT and Iowa sequence.
