Gifted Education / SEAGUL
Kershaw County School District's gifted continuum develops advanced thinkers, creative producers, and independent learners through academic and artistic services.
How services work: SEAGUL gifted classes serve grades 3–7 with experiences matched to gifted learners' developmental needs. Grades 8–12 continue through honors and Advanced Placement courses; Arts Emerging serves grade 3 and Arts Arising serves artistically gifted students in grades 4–7.
How students are identified: Identification is a multi-step process of referral, screening, and eligibility assessment. Students must meet two of South Carolina's three dimensions—aptitude, achievement, and performance—or qualify through the statewide automatic aptitude provision.
