Gifted and Talented Academic (GTA)

Dillon School District Four provides a Gifted and Talented Academic program with a continuing English language arts and mathematics honors pathway.

How services work: District program materials state that participating students are scheduled in English language arts and/or mathematics GT Honors courses with other identified learners throughout their school career, with school-day or after-school support available when needed.

How students are identified: Students qualify under South Carolina's gifted criteria, receive family consent before service, and retain their gifted identification as they progress. The district expects participants to complete both regular and gifted coursework and provides a support-plan process.

Dillon School District 3

Academic and Artistic Gifted and Talented

Dillon School District Three provides daily elementary and secondary gifted instruction plus a middle-school visual-arts pathway.

How services work: Grades 3–5 receive a daily 40-minute pull-out focused on gifted mathematics and science; grades 6–8 take daily honors language arts; grades 9–12 receive daily honors classes. Artistically gifted middle-school students receive visual-art instruction during the school day and selected extended activities.

How students are identified: All second-graders receive fall aptitude and achievement screening, and families, educators, administrators, and students may refer. Eligibility requires two of the state's three dimensions or the qualifying high-composite aptitude route; arts candidates complete recommendation, interview, and portfolio or demonstration review.
