Gifted and Talented Education / ALPHA Arts

Chesterfield County School District serves academically gifted students across grades 3–12 and offers the separate ALPHA Arts pathway for visual art and music.

How services work: Academic services provide programming beyond the general curriculum for learners with advanced needs. ALPHA Arts invites identified students to specialized artistic programming after music auditions or visual-art portfolio adjudication.

How students are identified: Academic placement follows South Carolina's referral, universal second-grade screening, and multi-dimensional eligibility process. Students in grades 3–12 may be nominated for ALPHA Arts, followed by screening and either a music audition or art portfolio review.
