Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Yadkin County uses an inclusive talent-development and gifted-services model that emphasizes rigorous differentiation, student strengths, and independent learning.
How services work: K–3 learners receive flexible enrichment groups and above-grade-level tasks, while classroom and AIG teachers collaborate on differentiated instruction, acceleration, advanced coursework, and social-emotional support across later grades.
How students are identified: Teams review aptitude, achievement, local assessments, classroom evidence, and portfolios. Local top-performer data and repeated talent-pool reviews help identify advanced potential among students who may be missed by traditional cut scores.
