Official program research

Wilson County Schools

Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)

Wilson County's 2025–2028 program uses early nurturing, universal screening, school-based specialists, and differentiated services to develop advanced reading, mathematics, and intellectual potential.

How services work: School AIG specialists coordinate nurturing and identified services, differentiated reading and mathematics, acceleration, advanced coursework, and annual service planning across elementary, middle, and high school.

How students are identified: Families, educators, staff, and high-school students may refer at any time. Universal measures begin in kindergarten, all second-graders receive CogAT, and later reviews combine school, state, aptitude, achievement, grade, observation, and secondary-readiness data with family consent.
