Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Wayne County identifies and supports gifted students through rigorous academic and intellectual opportunities intended to develop their maximum potential.
How services work: School-site services are matched through annual Differentiated Education Plans and include differentiated instruction, enrichment, advanced course placement, acceleration, and specialized middle- and high-school pathways.
How students are identified: School talent pools use local ability, achievement, universal-screening, classroom, portfolio, and nomination evidence, including the top local performers at each school. The district publishes parent screening requests, identification timelines, and transfer guidance.
