Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Washington County provides a K–12 continuum intended to nurture intellectual ability, creativity, decision-making, and whole-child growth through individualized services.
How services work: Annual DEPs may include differentiated and tiered instruction, personalized and project-based learning, book clubs, competitions, technology projects, guest speakers, job shadowing, STEM enrichment, advanced coursework, and acceleration.
How students are identified: School leads use a districtwide referral and screening process with aptitude, achievement, classroom performance, local assessments, observations, portfolios, and stakeholder nominations; committees obtain family consent before added testing and placement.
