Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)

Sampson County combines universal screening, talent development, specialist support, and advanced secondary opportunities in its 2025–2028 gifted program.

How services work: Elementary students receive daily differentiation and enrichment from trained teachers; middle grades use clustered and accelerated courses, and high school expands into honors, AP, dual enrollment, and other advanced options.

How students are identified: All second-graders take CogAT. School teams apply a multi-criterion matrix to aptitude, achievement, classroom, and other evidence, including additional review pathways for students near published screening thresholds.

Clinton City Schools

Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)

Clinton City Schools uses early talent development, twice-yearly screening windows, open referral, and multiple identification pathways to connect students with advanced learning.

How services work: Individual plans may include flexible grouping, curriculum compacting, Socratic seminars, differentiated projects, independent study, enrichment, acceleration, advanced courses, and supports coordinated across classroom and AIG staff.
