Academically and/or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Rockingham County provides a districtwide gifted continuum designed to identify and meet advanced learning needs across ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic groups.
How services work: Elementary, middle, high, and early-college schools have named AIG contacts, with differentiated academic services and advanced-learning opportunities coordinated under the current district plan.
How students are identified: The district publishes screening and identification guidance. School placement teams review multiple data sources each spring for current and potential AIG students and apply the district's criteria to service decisions.
