Academically & Intellectually Gifted (AIG)

Robeson County adapts the state curriculum to learners' abilities, readiness, interests, and learning profiles while nurturing high-performing K–2 students before formal identification.

How services work: K–2 talent development uses early-assessment and recommendation evidence; grades 3–12 receive differentiated services through school AIG teachers, advanced curriculum adaptations, acceleration, and secondary enrichment opportunities.

How students are identified: Students may be referred by educators, families, others, or themselves. Teams use Iowa achievement, CogAT aptitude, classroom performance, rating scales, motivation, leadership, and family or student evidence; testing proceeds when the published evidence threshold is met.
