Pender County pairs universal screening and talent development with daily differentiation, specialist support, acceleration, and advanced secondary pathways.
How services work: Services include classroom differentiation, pull-outs, social-emotional lessons, cluster grouping, subject or grade acceleration, advanced middle-school courses, enrichment classrooms, honors, AP, dual enrollment, and individualized plans.
How students are identified: All third-graders receive CogAT and achievement screening. K–12 nominations may come from staff, families, or students, and school and district teams triangulate achievement, ability, behavioral ratings, classroom performance, and artifacts.
