Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)

Northampton County combines multi-measure identification with individualized services intended to challenge gifted learners academically, intellectually, socially, and emotionally.

How services work: Annual DEPs may incorporate advanced mathematics, STEM and book clubs, enrichment, competitions, independent or interest-based projects, mentorship, leadership, job shadowing, summer bridge, and classroom differentiation.

How students are identified: School teams build a comprehensive profile using traditional and alternative measures of aptitude, achievement, potential, performance, behavior, work, and referral evidence; parent permission precedes evaluation and placement.
