Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG) / Advanced Learners
Nash County's AIG continuum provides differentiated, rigorous learning and advanced opportunities through certified facilitators in elementary, middle, and traditional high schools.
How services work: Services include flexible-group differentiation, subject or grade acceleration, Credit by Demonstrated Mastery, advanced secondary courses, dual enrollment, enrichment, and content extensions, documented through Differentiated Education Plans.
How students are identified: All second-graders receive a CogAT universal screen. From grade 3, teams consider nationally normed aptitude and achievement, teacher ratings, portfolios, EOG or EOC performance, and transfer evidence; K–2 identification is available for demonstrated extreme need.
