Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Macon County provides a broad gifted continuum supported by school specialists, annual service plans, early nurturing, and advanced secondary pathways.
How services work: Options include cluster grouping, content or grade acceleration, pull-out enrichment, online courses, honors, AP, dual enrollment, summer study, advisory cohorts, extracurriculars, and Macon Early College.
How students are identified: All third-graders receive universal screening through a matrix combining CogAT aptitude, achievement, grades, teacher ratings, and performance products. K–2 nurturing and ongoing K–12 referral and reevaluation provide additional entry points.
