Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Lenoir County provides differentiated services for a diverse population of advanced learners and monitors access and outcomes to improve equitable identification and support.
How services work: School contacts, classroom teachers, counselors, and AIG-trained staff coordinate differentiated instruction, enrichment, acceleration, and advanced-course planning across the K–12 continuum.
How students are identified: School teams use multiple quantitative and qualitative measures and review disaggregated participation data; local-norm and alternative-evidence practices help broaden access for students whose potential may be missed by traditional measures.
