AIG and Advanced Learning

Lee County uses a talent-development approach to recognize potential and match academic, intellectual, and social-emotional support to each student's demonstrated abilities.

How services work: Elementary services include differentiated classroom work, specialist groups, acceleration, chess, book clubs, and Science Olympiad; middle and high school add compacted mathematics, advanced courses, honors, AP, IB, dual enrollment, and extracurricular opportunities.

How students are identified: All second-graders receive the NGAT universal screen. Referrals are accepted year-round from staff, families, or students; school AIG teams review multiple measures and may place non-qualifying students in talent development for later reevaluation.
