Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Jones County combines early academic screening, third-grade aptitude testing, and school-team review with rigorous services addressing gifted learners' academic and social-emotional needs.
How services work: AIG specialists and classroom teachers coordinate differentiated instruction, enrichment, critical-thinking tasks, flexible grouping, acceleration, advanced coursework, and individualized annual service plans.
How students are identified: K–5 students are screened through reading and mathematics measures, with NNAT3 administered in grade 3 and state assessment review continuing through high school. Educators, families, students, administrators, or support staff may refer.
