Academically or Intellectually Gifted (AIG)
Johnston County's current AIG program emphasizes rigorous learning, creative problem-solving, communication, and preparation for responsible participation in a global community.
How services work: The district publishes distinct K–3, grades 4–5, grades 6–8, and grades 9–12 services, plus enrichment, Credit by Demonstrated Mastery, and grade- or subject-acceleration options.
How students are identified: The board-approved 2025–2028 local plan and family materials govern screening, identification, placement, and services; families are directed to the program team and its published guidance.
